Biography about the Producers and Director

of " The World Is My Kitchen"

Rick and Donna Bowen reside in Savannah, Georgia. Donna is a native of the charming southern city famous for the films, "Forest Gump," "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," and its history dating to the 1700's. Savannah is what the South is all about; beauty, history, and great food! To say Savannah is "southern," is about like saying apple pie is "American."
Rick was born and raised in the mountains of West Virginia, but transplanted himself to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he began a long career as a concert and music producer, artist manager, and composer.

Rick and Donna met on a blind date in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1971 at one of Rick's concerts and soon married. They have been together 30 years. They have three beautiful and talented daughters, Dorothea, Casey, and Darby. Dorothea, and her husband David live in Dallas, TX with their children, Ashley, Kendall, and Jessica. Casey and Darby are California Girls and reside and work in the Los Angles area.
The couple has several film, television, and music projects under development, as well as, plans for more cooking adventures for "The World Is My Kitchen."

Rick and Donna's interest and love of fine food merged as soon as they met. Rick's schedule of producing and promoting concerts and the couples' continuous travels around the country usually left them hungry and looking for a good restaurant after shows. The fact that they had to eat out so often afforded them opportunities to discover unique restaurants and eating experiences.
Various artists Rick was promoting would also make particuliar food and beverage demands in their contracts that the Bowens would always find. From tracking down a case of "65' Reserva Ducale Chianti" for ZZ Top to keeping Joe T. Garcia's restaurant in Ft. Worth, Texas open late for John Denver, Rick and Donna were challenged with finding extraordinarily good food almost every day for the famous artists they represented.
After Rick retired from the concert trail, the Florida Keys beckoned and the Bowens bought a 46' Sport fishing Yacht, the Dolphin III, from which they fished and entertained for several years. While the boat was moored at Holiday Isle in Islamorada, the Bowens and their children visited many places collecting recipes, and learning cooking techniques from friends, locals, restaurant owners, and chefs. Though they were tempted to stay in the Keys permanently, beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina attracted them. They lived in Beaufort for three years before moving to Malibu, California where Rick returned to the entertainment field. They now reside in Coastal Georgia and from there are still exploring new worlds of good eating.
